Generation to Generation

One of the coolest moments during our training in Salado happened as I looked around the room. It was a moment of overwhelming gratitude to Father for the privilege of being a part of His missionary enterprise. There in one room He had gathered 5 generations of His servants and witnesses--each one playing their part in making Him known in their own generation. We had a mighty servant of our Father who was 86 and had served 33 years in the harvest in Singapore. Then we had a young woman, who at 12 is seeking what Father would have her do concerning His mission. In between the 12 and 86, we had 3 young adult high school and college women preparing to spend time this summer serving in Mali as well as well as middle to senior adults doing the same thing. I praise God for calling out His servants from generation to generation and sending them into the harvest fields. In Acts 13:36 it says, "For when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he died." My prayer is that this will be written or said about each of the servants who were at training this weekend!

Time to Rest and Praise

Last week I finished up my preparation for training of 2 groups of people going to Mali in June and 1 team later in the year. It was a great week! I traveled to Salado, Tx on Thursday to do the final preparations and get settled in before training began Friday! We had a great weekend and I cannot wait to write the details so you can celebrate and praise with me. For now, I want you to know GOD was amazing, He SPOKE CLEARLY to each of us in new ways, and He is doing what only HE CAN DO! Today will be a time of rest and reflection, praise and prayer for me as I consider all He has done and seek all that He desires to do. Please join me in praising Him! Please join me in seeking His direction for the college team being sent out by HSI in June. Ask God to restore me as I rest in Him today!

Decisions and Developments

Harvest Prayer Network:
The HSI Board will be meeting April 26, 2010. We are in the process of making some important decisions, seeking Father's direction about the further development of this ministry, and Father's plan for it. This ministry is HIS and we want to move and walk with Him step by step. Please pray for Father's wisdom, Father's clear steps walked out in front of us, Father's perspective about each decision and direction. Pray for each board member by name: Lori, Mike, Jim, Jen, Brent, Lenora, and Johnny. Thank you for the vital role you play in this ministry--the power of Father unleashed to accomplish His work!

Traveling and Training

Harvest Seekers International is gearing up to travel to the Central Texas area to train 3 groups of people headed to Mali.  FBC Academy will be taking a team to work with the S@mogho at the beginning of June and two of the four college students going with HSI in June live in this area. The parents of Lori P will also be joining us for the training. They will be going to Mali later in the year. We will all meet together to begin the spiritual, cultural, and physical preparations of our times in Mali.
Please pr@y for me as I complete my preparations for the training and drive to the Academy/Salado area of Texas. Pray also for Shelby and Abby--the two college students, Vicki and Megan--the team from Academy, and LP's parents as they come together to learn, grow, and seek Father's plan for their time in Mali. Pray for unity, surrender, and the fullness of Father's Presence for our time together.

Preparations Begin

Four college students have begun the process of following God to serve as volunteers in Mali. They are completing the application process and seeking God's heart for their involvement on a team headed to Mali at the end of June. Through this opportunity they will be exposed to the ways God works through His children to make Himself known to those who have never heard of Him. They will experience Him using them in a variety of ways thus exposing them to the many ways God calls out His people to serve Him. Please pray for His guidance in their lives, His protection over them, and His provision in every way for them. Pray for them by name: Abby, Catherine, Eli, and Shelby. Pray for HSI as we seek to know exactly how God is inviting us to join Him among the Samogho, the Pana, the Supirye, and the many people groups we will meet along the way. Pray for our preparation as we seek to be ready as a team spiritually and culturally. We live in 3 different states, and 5 different cities. The challenge is great, yet our God is greater. Thank you for lifting us up!

New Partners in the Harvest

We are excited that God has called Oakbrook Community Church from SC to partner with Harvest Seekers International in the work He is doing in Mali. He connected us last year through the DECLARE conference as we celebrated the work God has been doing through churches and volunteers in West Africa. They invited HSI to come and train them in how to  story God's Word with people in West Africa. Through all of this, God has united our hearts for one purpose--to make Him known among the Pana people and the people groups in that area of Mali. They are preparing to take a vision team in December 2010/January 2011. Please pray for God to lead, guide, and call out His people to serve among the nations through Oakbrook Church. Pray for God to deepen the faith of His followers at Oakbrook Church and grow them in their understanding of His mission in the world. Pray for God to direct their steps as they seek to know exactly what He is calling them to do and how He is inviting them to join Him!

Celebrating Him from now to eternity

Greetings Harvest Prayers!
Its Easter Weekend! Today--Good Friday--we stop to consider all that Jesus did for us through His obedience to go to the cross, to give His life so we might live! Tomorrow-- the day that the followers of Jesus were totally without Him--I pray you will consider with me what our lives would be like if suddenly He was taken from us. Sunday--Resurrection Day--we join together with believers ALL over the world to celebrate the reality that Jesus is ALIVE! We praise God--the All Powerful God--the One who raised His Son from the dead making a way for us to walk in a personal relationship with Him forever!
As I read the story of Jesus from His Triumphal Entry to His crucifixion this week, Mark 14:28 jumped off of the page at me this time. He said, "But after I am raised from the dead, I will go ahead of you to Galilee and meet you there." As I thought about that, here's what went through my mind...(these are just my thoughts) He knew the disciples would feel lost on the day of His arrest, His death, and His day in the grave (at least in the peoples eyes). Jesus knew the difficulties they would face--the doubts, fears, and even persecution. He knew He could not help them through those things. He also knew He would be going through all of this alone--without His friends. He knew and had even told them they would desert him and be scattered. Maybe Jesus even knew He would miss the disciples-- His friends, His partners in the work His Father was doing. He knew that they could not help Him with this part of His Father's assignment. I could almost hear the excitement and the hope in His voice as I read His words..."But after I am raised from the dead, I will go ahead of you to Galilee and meet you there." He knew the Father planned to reconnect Him with those He loved so much. He knew His death was not the end. He knew they would walk together again. He knew that His next walk with His disciples and even with us would last forever. This weekend we celebrate not only that Jesus rose from the dead, but He is going ahead of us today. He will meet us in the middle of whatever we face--the good and the bad. Now that He has been raised from the dead, He walks with us daily through this life and then into the next!
HE IS RISEN!! HE IS RISEN INDEED!!!
